About Meditation with the Light Self

Are you looking for creative or business ideas? Got an important decision to make? Or maybe you are faced with a difficult dilemma.

These are just a few of the varied reasons where Meditating with the Light Self can be helpful to you.

As with my Healer Man recording, you are also encouraged to use your imagination to create your own image of your Light Self.

The meditation features specific symbolic and archetypal images that allow you to communicate with your superconscious mind or with the universal consciousness.

This form of guided imagery is often used in a therapeutic context with a transpersonal counsellor.

Using guided imagery can help you to establish a stronger connect with your intuition so that you can make productive decisions, stimulate your creativity and exercise good judgement in your life.

Meditation with the Light Self enables you to dialogue with your superconscious, your higher mind, or guardian angel – however you choose to interpret your inner guide.

As you already have all the knowledge you need within you, connecting with your Light Self allows you to tap into your own instinctive wisdom.

As with all my meditation recordings, this guided meditation also sends reiki energy to the listener so that you can experience a mini Reiki session as well as receive advice from your unconscious guide.

It is a short meditation so if you are in a hurry, pressed for a time, and need to make a quick decision, you can still take 12 minutes to listen to advice from your unconscious self.

Answers may not always arrive immediately. They may come to you some time after you have listened to the recording, after your unconscious has had some time to chew things over and reason things out.

TIP: Listening to meditations last thing at night or first thing in the morning – when you are on the threshold between sleeping and waking allows for greater insights to emerge.

Even if you fall asleep while trying to meditate, you can also receive creative solutions in your dreams.

Keep a notebook handy to record any symbols or messages that are presented to you from your unconscious – as they may not make sense straight away.

Create a Mandala for Manifestation

Here is a fun exercise which can be used as a tool for visualisation and manifestation.

Draw a large circle on some cardboard. Split the circle into four segments.

In the centre of your circle, place an image or a symbol that represents your goal.

For example, if you are looking for a new property, you might use a photograph of a house in the countryside. If you are wishing for peace of mind, you might want to use a picture of a dove or some other symbol of peace. If you are looking for a new job, create a symbol or find a photo that represents your new career path.

You can do whatever you like with the four segments of the circle depending on your own creative or artistic skills.

You can fill the segments with your own simple symmetrical design typical of a mandala composed of colours and shapes.

Or you can fill the circle segments with images from magazines or newspapers which correspond to your goal.

Write an affirmation underneath your mandala which corresponds to the goal that you wish to achieve such as:

Every day in every way, I am getting richer and richer or

I am guided to the perfect home for me or

Peace of mind is mine.

Use your mandala as a visualisation tool that you can look at every day. Or use it in conjunction with the meditation exercise found on the Mandala page.

Journey Quotations

The soul of a journey is liberty, perfect liberty, to think, feel, do just as one pleases.

William Hazlitt

***

Like pilgrims to th'appointed place we tend;

The world's an inn, and death the journey's end.

John Dryden

***

Midway along the journey of our life, I woke to find myself in a dark wood, for I had wandered off from the straight path.

Dante, The Divine Comedy

***

The tree the tempest with a crash of wood

Throws down in front of us is not to bar

Our passage to our journey's end for good,

But just to ask us who we think we are...

Robert Frost

Into the Labyrinth

The summer season is the time when most of us take time to visit new places where we live or to travel to other countries.

We do this to take some time off the treadmill, to rest and rejuvenate so that we can return refreshed to our daily routine.

Sometimes though, going on holiday can be even more stressful than daily life – flight delays, dodgy hotel accommodation, lost luggage and so on…

But most of the time it is often a liberating experience to take time out of our daily cycle to explore other places. In fact, two of the older meanings of the word ‘vacation’ are ‘freedom’ and ‘release’.

There are also the personal journeys that we take through life…for example, from birth to the end of childhood, newlywed to parenthood and so on.

There is also the internal journey that we take when we practise traditional forms of meditation. Another meaning of the Latin word ‘vacare’ is ‘to be empty’. Traditional forms of meditation often require you to empty your mind.

A holiday within can be just as, or even more, fascinating than a journey outside to a far-flung corner of the planet.

The labyrinth can be seen as a metaphor both for meditation and for an individual’s personal journey through life. It is also a symbol of the journey within.

The act of walking a labyrinth is often viewed as a method of meditation.

The labyrinth, unlike a maze, is made up of one spiralling path which travels into the centre of a circle and back out again. There are no dead ends or blind alleys. There is just one purposeful path. The word concentration means drawing to the centre.

One of the most famous labyrinths is found in the Chartres Cathedral in France where pilgrims walk the path as a tool for contemplation and prayer.

As the holiday season, for most people, draws to a close, we can continue to travel within and take time out from the stresses of daily life through the practice of meditation.

Instead of getting lost in a maze of activity and stress, we can take a short time each day to gather our resources by connecting with our inner self.
