Update

There has been a long gap since the last issue of the newsletter due to the ongoing development of many projects. It is likely that the newsletter will now be available every two months during this period of development.

The Sun

This visualisation exercise from psychosynthesis may be a particularly pleasant and powerful way to start the day on a positive note:

It is dawn. You are standing at seashore. You watch the colours of the sky change as the sun slowly rises from the water.

When the sun is half visible on the horizon, its reflection creates a path of golden light which leads to where you are standing.

You enter the sea and swim along the golden path. As you swim towards the sun, you become less aware of the water and more aware of the sunlight.

You continue to swim until your mind and body has been completely filled up by sunlight. Remain in this state for as long as you like.

Then swim back to the shore, come out of the sea and stand where you before looking out to the horizon. The sun has now risen in the sky. It is a new day.

When you are ready, open your eyes.

Seven Cycle Vibrational Breathing Exercise

This exercise helps to induce a heightened state consciousness. It can be used as an introduction to your meditation practice.

1. Inhale for a count of seven.

2. Hold your breath, counting to seven.

3. Exhale counting to seven.

4. For the last count of seven, do not breathe.

Then repeat the cycle again, inhaling for a count of seven. This exercise is to be repeated seven times.

Reflection

“The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn, the bird waits in the egg, and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities.”

James Allen

Meditation Tips

Creating a Sacred Space

Before you start to meditate, you may wish to clear the space energetically to free the atmosphere of any lingering negative emotions or simply to create a more positive and vibrant space and enhance your meditation experience.

Here are five ways that you can use to clear the space in your environment or rid it of toxic or stagnant energy.

1. There are a range of space clearing sprays or essences which can be used for this purpose. Simply spray the area where you are meditating or if you want to free your home or office of negative energy, you can spray the four corners of the room.

2. If you are religious, you can sprinkle holy water in the corners of the room or the the surrounding area where you are going to meditate.

3. You can burn incense or light a scented candle.

4. If you know Reiki, you can cleanse a room energetically by drawing the Power Symbol (CKR) with the palm of your hand in the centre of the room or across the four walls or four corners of your sacred space.

5. You can create your own space clearing ritual or gesture (such as ringing a bell) that you perform before you meditate which is a signal to your subconscious that you are now going to enter an internal sacred space.
